MAGICPLAY ENTERTAINMENT AND RAZOR DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT SIGN LONG TERM DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT FOR LARGE FORMAT FILMS

Originally Presented in IMAXâ Theatres, the 15/70 Collection is Remastered in HD Widescreen for release on DVD

July 26, 2005 – Some of the best Large Format Films ever produced have been remastered and are now available for the first time on DVD in HD Widescreen via a partnership between MagicPlay Entertainment and Razor Digital Entertainment.

MagicPlay, who has acquired a large library of Large Format Films for international distribution, is releasing seven titles on September 13 through Razor, including the all-time best seller Africa the Serengeti.  “Having worked with Mitch for the better part of the last five years, I know how passionate and experienced he is about this genre, and I can’t think of a better distribution partner than Razor to bring these titles to market,” commented Shelley Praamsma, General Manager of Magic Play. Other Large Format Films being released at this time include Alaska: Spirit of the Wild, Amazing Journeys, Ocean Oasis, Ocean Origins, Great North and Australia: Land Beyond Time. 

Each title in the line is being released under the 15/70 Collection, referring to size of the film used in most Giant Screen Theaters.  “With the release of movies such as Batman and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory being released in IMAXâ theaters, more and more people are being educated about 15/70 films, and we believe this branding will ring a bell with consumers of all types,” said Praamsma. 

MagicPlay worked directly with the producers to re-master all of the titles in HD Widescreen directly from the original film prints, giving them an even crisper and clearer look than before.  All titles are available with both DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks and have up to eight different languages. “By remastering the product in HD Widescreen and having both DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks, we’ve clearly positioned this product to take advantage of home entertainment centers with Plasma, LCD and DLP television sets,” commented Praamsma.  

The next group of Large Format Films will be released in Q1 2006.  “I’m really excited to be back distributing Large Format Films on DVD,” stated Mitch Perliss, Executive Vice President of Razor Digital Entertainment. “I love the format, love the people and believe that with a low price and great new product we can work with the retail community and our competitors to reintroduce Large Format Film sections in retail stores.” 

Titles Being Released on September 13 (prebook August 16) will be priced at $14.99 srp each and have multiple language soundtracks including English and Spanish:
